Media Editor is unlike any other Hex Editor. It allows you to mount a file
system, automatically recover directories/files, and manipulate or edit

 How Media Editor Works
4 steps are involved when using Media Editor:
1) The Media Editor program mounts Windows/DOS file systems at the
sector level. There is
no need for previously knowledge of Hex. Media Editor calculates the
geometric location involved
in all File System Components, and links them together. Simply follow the
links of the components for easy and fast navigation.
2) Once the file system has been mounted, Media Editor
automatically builds a
file/directory tree structure. It can recover
directories/files to a different drive formatted FAT32.
3) Media Editor can then View, Look for, Replace and Edit any part
of the file system on any media type or operating system. It does this
using uniquely designed templates. Users do not need to know Hex.
4) For those who prefer, Media Editor can also be used as a Hex
Editor on any
media type or
operating system.
A user can skip the mounting stage and work either with raw data sectors
or editing templates.
